A Night With George Lopez Is No Longer Available

The Huffington Post is reporting that TBS has made the "difficult decision" to not renew LOPEZ TONIGHT for a 3rd season. Considering that Lopez was the only Latino to host a talk show in who knows how long (OR EVER for that matter), it is unfortunate that another show is biting the dust.

Also, does this mean that Conan will get that timeslot? Remember, George Lopez agreed to push his show BACK in order for Conan to come on at an earlier time. All this shifting around seems a bit familiar, doesn't it?

High School Musical wrangler Kenny Ortega will be overseeing the production/directing of the remake. with all the 1980s remakes being released, will you be having the time of your life when the remake is released, or do you think some babies should be put in a corner for eternity?

A FemmeMinajMonster Invasion in Atlantic City

We all know that Britney Spears's tour with NERVO, JESSE AND THE TOYBOYS and NICKI MINAJ is possibly THE hottest ticket this summer ... so how can it come up to match the hotness of the Heatwave this season?: Throw in a Monster in the mix

Last night at the Atlantic City stop of the Femme Fatale Tour, Lady GaGa was in the building and watched "The Legendary Miss Britney Spears (or let me quote a friend when he sent the photo to me at 2:31am: "Gaga giving in to the Legend at the Femme Fatale Show"). Britney took time out of the concert to shine the light on Gaga and they both exchanged kisses and hearts (and a bow a la Gaga) in the process as you can (somewhat) see in some videos posted on YouTube

So, how much fun did Monther Monster have at the show. Well according to two of her dancers (Luke Broadlick and Marco DaSilva) that tweeted post show:

Luke Broadlick: Dope show tonight. @LadyGaGa came out to watch. Was fun seeing her dance with us out there! #FemmeFataleTour

Marco DaSilva: Hey Monsters ure momma @ladygaga was at our @britneyspears Show 2nite & we had so much fun having her!She looked as she was having a blast

Lady Gaga reportedly danced to "I Wanna Go" as well as many other Britney hits. Britney also acknowledged Gaga DURING her concert as well as sending a tweet after the show: "So amazing to have the beautiful @LadyGaga at the show in AC tonight. Love You, Girl. -Britney"

While this may be makig news to many Britney and Gaga Fans, this is actually not the first time they have sent some love to each other:
  • Last year, Britney actually attended (but left early) a show of The Monster's Ball
  • Britney has tweeted about actuall MEETING Lady GaGa (which i know exists, i just have to find it)
  • on a recent AMPRadio interview with Carson Daly: Gaga briefly being "jealous" of Carson Daly when she would see Britney up at the TRL studios
Now that we know that two great pop artists can show support to each other, maybe rivalries between the two fanbases can come to a halt so that others won't have to vent out their frustration about it. Also, is this some type of kickoff to a possible collab in the near future?

TV Might Just Become A Bit Less Desperate

This seems to be a summer of breakups and separation in my personal life (not by me, but by my friends and colleagues and acquaintances around me, pretty sad and all) .... and now some of your favorite women on TV might be heading out as well.

TvLine Contributor Nellie Andreeva (as well as numerous sources) is reporting that ABC will be annoucing on August 7th the end of its Sunday Night MegaHit "Desperate Housewives". Marc Cherry is no longer the EP of the show, but rather a consultant for the (tentative, not yet officially announced) final season. Desperate Housewives brought back the Primetime Soap Opera to a night that usually does not do well in ratings (Sunday seems to be the "whatever is on" mode for many networks ... see: NBC)

If this is correct about DHs final season, what do you think? Will you miss the Ladies of Wisteria Lane?

Anne Hathaway: The CATWOMAN

It's time for mugshots, motorbikes and kitty treats! SELINA KLE IS BACK! Warner Brothers has now released more promotional shots of the new Batman movie "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES".

Anny Hathaway has now taken over the role of Catwoman and as you can see above and below: it looks like it fits her just like a kitten's claws on a scratch post. What do you think of the shots? and are you ready for July 20, 2012 to get here already?!!!?!?

Brazil's Latest Festival: Heterosexual Pride Day

Get out your sports talk, crack open a can/bottle of beer and fire up the frustrations of your upcoming wedding that you didn't have to fight for since you are straight: HETEROSEXUAL PRIDE DAY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!

The Sao Paulo Council recently adopted a legistation for Heterosexual Pride Day to have its inaugural annual celebration in December (the 3rd Sunday of December: just in case you wanted to go ahead and clear your schedule.)

So why the day you might ask? Well, for one: I think that my heterosexuals have been wanting this for a while ... you know: the ones that kind of complain that "Why Is There A Gay Pride and not a straight one?" Of course, most are joking (others aren't which is a bit disturbing) but I dont think that straight people had to worry about horrendous treatment by society and having to go to bars to worry about being arrested.

Also, the funny thing about this is the REASONING for Heterosexual Pride Day as one counsilman put it as: ""not anti-gay, but a protest against the privileges the gay community enjoys.""

You can check out more info of the Legislation and even the concerns from The Brazilian LGBT Association by clicking here .... after you buy your tickets to Brazil of course ;)

The Italian Invasion of The Jersey Shore Begins Tonight

As we all know by now and have known for months now: The Tanned Titans Of The TriState Area filmed their latest season of insanity and liquid swapping in Italy. Season 4 of the Jersey Shore will finally premiere tonight on 30 Year Old / Not wanting to really acknowledge its 30th birthday network MTV.

The cast was shown in a segment on last nights' ABC News NIGHTLINE. If you missed it, you can watch it below ... & does anyone find it pretty funny that former MTV Reporter Chris Connelly is the one interviewing them? The circle of MTV just seems to follow him everywhere .....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TONY BENNETT

Photo courtesy of the Tony Bennett FaceBook Page

There was a boy I met when I was about 19/20 when i lived in California. I was just out of the closet and just trying to talk to boys. Nothing ever happened between the guy and I and i would see him at his job and get all giggles and nervous and all. For some reason, i thought that was the end of me. Then, my friend Dave sat me down in his office and played the song posted below ...

... it was then when i felt SO much better, listening to this AMAZING voice and heartfelt lyrics, but i had NO idea who the guy was. Yes, i know: i should have already known who Tony Bennett was, but growing up in Texas surrounded by Tejano Music and Mexican influences everywhere tends to keep you in a state of mind of one direction. I think of Tony everytime I think of San Francisco, I play his music when i just want to take a break from chill house music or just need some me time to get away from it all, I think the WORLD of Tony.

I fell in love with Tony Bennett since that day in 2002/2003 and he is by far one of my absolute favorite male singers OF ALL TIME (He is actually tied with GEORGE MICHAEL ... just in case you wanted to know). Today, August 3rd 2011 marks his 85TH BIRTHDAY!!! He is in no way slowing down as his new DUETS album is set for release soon, which will feature duets with Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Frankin, the late Amy Winehouse and MANY more.

Check out a great video by many of his fellow performers below (many of them, if not all of them in the birthday wishes video will be doing a duet with Tony) as well as a personal toast from Lady Gaga herself.

Double The Beyonce, Double The Gaga: Thursday TV Invasion

Beyonce and Lady Gaga made Thursday a day of busy (and separate) TV Appearances. Both did TWO shows in ONE night. Don't want to search all over for the clips of their performances and interviews while you're counting down the end of the workday? Well, I got you covered ... cause their performances AND interviews are here IN ONE PLACE! :-)

The Marathon on music began with Beyonce performing the latest single off her album 4 titled" Best Thing I Never Had"

Beyonce then took a break to have a sit down where she discusses future family plans, her break from the spotlight and her upcoming movie with Clint Eastwood

Beyonce then closed out The View with a performance of "1+1"

**AND THAT WAS ALL BY NOON EASTERN TIME!! (WHEW!) You Go, Beyonce! Off To The Lady Gaga Leg of Thursday Mania**

The Day After being a guest judge on Wednesday Night's So You Think You Can Dance Episode: Lady Gaga Took to the stage and performed a mashup of her hits "Edge Of Glory" and her upcoming 4th single "You And I"

A Few Hours Later: Gaga appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel for an interview, with a headpiece it took this blogger a while to realize what it was(hey, i was up pretty early that day, considering it was my day off ;) Can you spot it?

Lady Gaga did TWO performances as well (a La Beyonce THE VIEW earlier that day on the same network): YOU AND I was the first and then she played off the show with THE ENDGE OF GLORY, which you can see in its entirety here

Now, to the final lap of this all day invasion: Beyonce closes out the race with another performance with an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. (FYI off topic briefly: Jimmy Fallon usually tapes his show in the early evening so it is ready for airtime latenight .. I attended a taping back in October when ROBYN performed and was even on the Band Bench behind her .. you couldn't see me on the show, but trust me: 1) i was there and 2) the studio is MUCH smaller than when you might think it is) Her performance below, followed by her brief sitdown with Jimmy Fallon.

... And so ends another race of the superstars, where everyeone is a win.... WAIT! Oh yes, YNT Readers: I have TWO bonus clips for you:

Lady Gaga debuted her new fashion line, meant for the youngest of her monsters

Also, i know that this has been making the rounds for some time now: but i finally got to watch the Target Flash Mob to Beyonce's END OF TIME << which is seriously one of my favorite songs of the year!! Now if they can just get their donations debacle straightened out or what not, but that is a different story.

Birthday Of The Weekend: MTV Is Entering Its 30s

With Social Media and camera phones everywhere, it's hard to NOT rememebr what happens in an instant ... but take that away and try to remember where you were 30 years ago this weekend: when Alan Hunter, Martha Quinn, Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood and J.J. Jackson debuted with a new channel called MTV

MUSIC TELEVISION, also popularly known as MTV is turning 30 years old this weekend (It launced on August 1st, 1981) and it's remarkable to think that a TV Station playing music VIDEOS was revolutionary at that time. Want a chance to relive some of those times? well you are in luck. 4 of the Original MTV VJs (J.J. Jackson passed away in 2004) will be reuniting over the radio this weekend and will play some of the hits and share stories of the early times of MTV.

Check out the Rolling Stone Interview with one of the original VJs, Mark Goodman by clicking here.

You can also check out an interview with the 4 remaining VJs here by The New York Post.
Below are the 5 Original MTV VJs that started a revolution. Do you miss the good old days of MTV? What do you think of everything MTV is doing nowadays?

The Whole Foods Market Resignation Explosion

Photo Courtesy of The New York Times

The Resignation Letter: It probably hasn't been used as much by people recently given the state of our economy. Many of them are formal and some have a bit of humor thrown in them (i still remember mine from the Navy after 4 years, and that drink offer is STILL open to those that have been offered to it) ... but one resignation letter that was sent out last week has some people going crazy & exposing the practices of one major company.

Gawker blogger Seth Abramovitch  has been reporting on a letter that was sent out by a former worker at Whole Foods Market. While the letter was made public (with personal names and contacts ommited for privacy purposes), Seth had sent out an offer to any other WFM Workers (past and present) to share their stories and experiences with him: and the response was hundreds and hundreds, with of course some of the best being highlighted by Seth.

God Shows Up On New Poll With Interesting Percentages

photo courtesy of this blogger's frist ever trip to Fire Island/Cherry Grove July 13th, 2011
There seems to be a survey for everything: which products work the best, if you believe that one is guilty or not, and then there is the always around Approve/Disapprove poll ... and even GOD is not safe.

According to a new poll  by Public Policy Polling (which seems to have been named by a Peter Piper Picked a Pepper fan), GOD himself/herself (im not one to judge if you believe that God is a Man Or Woman since some think the latter) only comes in at a 52% Approval Rating ... and that is with the official question starting off as "If God Exists....". It's also pretty unique to see peoples' approval of his/her handling of ANIMALS, NATURAL DISASTERS and "ITS HANDLING OF CREATING THE UNIVERSE"
The Poll overal shows that America's perception of Congress has actually increased, but is still considered poor.

Two other people have been mentioned in the poll & it's quite interesting:
  • Rupert Murdoch has a 49% Unfavorable, this considering the phone hacking scandal
  • John Boehner is actually LESS popular than god, only coming in at a 39% Approval rating

You Can check out all 18 pages of the results of the poll by clicking here. Do you approve or disapprove of some of the findings? What do you find interesting?

Middle Aged: Modern Stressed

We hear it all the time from friends at the bar and your companions on Facebook/Twitter/Google+: We have bad moments and feel like we are being stretched out. We hear it from others that "I'm completely stressed out" or anything similar. Well, according to a study: One sector of the poulation is more at risk for stress levels, leading to possible health problems: & you have probably known her for your whole life.

According to a new study: This will be the first generation of WOMEN (mostly of the middle aged group) to not outlive their male counterparts by 5 to 7 years ... and the answers are obvious. Keeping families in line, some tending to their aging parents, keeping their marriage at the best (and some doing so when they are at the worst). Moms of any generation are usually stressed out and this probably comes from the genuine maternal instincts that women seem to have with the people in their life. But WHY EXACTLY is that?

Why is it the WOMEN that are putting themselves at risk? That honestly confuses me and although Beyonce states that Girls Run The World: we need those girls/women to be well enough with THEMSELVES before they take care of others. Their love and concern should never go unnoticed, but let us give them a break or support ... we need them (and fathers/men too).

Bidding For The Blood: Casey Anthony Interview Happening?

Casey Anthony Verdict: What the Jury Must Decide | Casey Anthony

It has been floating around for the past few days that Casey Anthony's lawyer is INDEED trying to get an interview with one of the 3 major networks for his client. While this blogger is particularly disgusted with the whole situation: a tweet by TMZs own Harvey Levin on Wednesday Evening might just reveal the "winner" of this "interview":

"we reported the bidding for Casey Anthony is >$1.5 mil. they think TMZ bid on her. We did NOT, would NOT and will NOT. I think NBC got her"

Given the nature of this entire case and the public outrage of its verdict, would you be watching this interview if it does happen?

Behind The Grunge: Kesha

Ke$ha has been known to get alot of crap for her looks and autotuned success. I'll admit: I love it all, but at first i was wondering WTF?!?!? Why her? There are other talented people that deserve more attention. Well, after a while, I understood why people actually like her: just cause she is different. My first impression of her was that she was trying too hard to do this "messy young rebel", but with some recent images in her music and a blip of an attitude shift (remember, this is the lady that blasted Britney spears for lipsyncing and now in 2011: Joined Britney and Nicki for a remix of Til The World Ends .. a song that KESHA co-wrote ..) are making Kesha more well liked by me (although i never "hated" or "disliked" her.

Fashion Photographer Terry Richardson has recently shared some photos of Kesha on his site. Feel free to go take a look for yourself, as well as discover some other shots Terry has also posted recently from 2007 when he had time with the late Amy Winehouse.

90s Kids Got What They Wanted

We may be in our 20s, but we still have the 90s on our minds and hearts .... and TeenNick gave us what we asked for.

On July 25th, TeenNick debuted its 2 hour nostalgic block of programming of The 90s Are All That. After being asked/demanded/shouted/tweeted/facebooked about the Nick of the 1990s programming (from the labeled #90sKid(s) of the planet), #90sAreAllThat debuted with STRONG numbers and some of the highest in TeenNick's late night timeslot.

Read the official press release describing the success of this 2 hour block by clicking here. For now, the 2 hours block consists of ALL THAT, KENAN AND KELL, CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL and DOUG. No word yet if any other "classics" (yes, i feel a bit old typing that out) will be added into the 2 hour block (or, AHEM ... a 90s Channel will be developed .. if the network is reading this ... that would be a HINT)

The 90s Are All That program block airs WeekNights from 12am-2pm and reruns from 2am-4am (all times eastern standard time)

Amy Winehouse's Final Interview

As the world is very aware, Amy Winehouse passed away last weekend at the age of 27. While many people were genuinelyy shocked, there were many others that horrificly "predicted that this would happen anyway" or "it should have been gaga."

As what always happens when an artist passes away, Facebook and Twitter users went to express their sadness and post some of their favorite Winehouse tunes/interview quotes. Almost a week after her passing: her "final interview" has now hit the net.

Neil McCormick of THE TELEGRAPH interviewed Amy back in March while she was recording a duet with Tony Bennett for his album "TONY BENNETT: DUETS 2", set for release in September. She reveals many things about herself and how Tony influenced her. Check out a bit on what she had to say by clicking here. Given everything that she had to go through with herself (and having the exposure of the fame didn't make it easier), Amy was still a person and any loss of life is tragic.

Exclusive Eyewitness Story to the nabbing of MAKSIM GELMAN

courtesy of New York Daily News, February 2011
MAKSIM GELMAN, the man that was charged with the killing of 4 people (via stabbings, a carjacking and hit and run) on the weekend of February 11th, was also hit with ATTEMPTED MURDER charges today (February 23rd) for the actions done towards straphangar Joseph Lozito on February 12th (thanfully, Lozito surivied the attack and only received staples and stiches from injuries of not only slices on his body, but also included a stab in the skull)

Gelman is currently at the Bellevue Pshyc Ward under supervision. Also, the morning of Gelman's arrest: a coworker of mine (Jenny) happened to be in the train that got held up at Times Square ... and has this EXCLUSIVE story to share with YourNextTopic readers:

"It started out as a normal Saturday morning for me.  I am a personal trainer and my first client was at 9am.  I was on a downtown 2 express train traveling from my neighborhood  down to work.
The train rolled into 42nd street and when the doors opened dozens of NYPD officers came running down the stars of the station.  There was a lot of screaming and running, mostly from the police officers, as they got everyone inside the trains to clear the platforms.  It was clear that they didn't know if the suspect was on a train, in the tunnel or on the platform.

This is about when I realized that there was an off duty policeman sitting beside me on the train. He was in his street clothes but he had a badge around his neck.  I leaned over to him and said, "Do you have a gun with you?" and he said "Yes."  That made me feel a little better because even though there were many police officers in the area it was nice to know that our train had its own personal weapon.

About 20 minutes later and things start to settle down a little bit.  Our train was still being held in the station while police searched for the suspect, who I have now been told is "very dangerous". Then a few minutes later an uptown express train rolled into the station carrying the suspect and many police officers who had him pinned down in one of the cars.

We all watched as the man was arrested and that is when the officer on my train told me that it was the man who had been on a killing spree for the past 36 hours. Just another Saturday in NYC."

The Unnecessary Battle of the Pop Stars

Let me first off state that I have one of the greatest pop culture fanatic friends IN THE WORLD! I really do! But due to some recent actions and defenses  ... it has inspired me to write this entry on here for the world to hear.

When I was in my teens, we had the battle of the pop star divas: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and so forth and so forth. Now, forward over 11 years later: it's the comparison of Lady Gaga to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, early Madonna influences, etc etc. (Mandy is off doing acting now and Simpson is richer than you) There is nothing wrong with music in the world. Sure, there maybe a different way of getting it out there and purchasing it and  many "newcomers" (as Aguilera likes to state) have entered the music business but i also remember a time where music brought us together. With Lady Gaga vs. the world: it seems to have had a destructive effect on it.

With Britney Spears's arrival back on the scene and a new album coming out: it really has seems to bring out the WORST in some. Passionate and die hard fans can be one thing that i can appreciate and find so cute, but to pin your idol to others (as i have had in the past few weeks with RM pinning Britney to Kylie) is just plain disgusting. There is no doubt that Britney has accomplished such a magnificent amount of sales and promotions in the 11 years or so she has been around. No one is doubting that FOR A SECOND. The only thing i don't appreciate is that in a nearly 100% part of the time: her voice is never fully used, BUT she has made up for that in performances of gyrating, hair loss and cages (and that was just her last tour). I personally would  not pay $150 or so to see a LIVE artist LIPSYNC when i can go to some site, download the special mixes used on tours and even show love and appreciation for it.

This war is not only about Britney v Kylie, but the COMPLETELY.UNNECESSARY Britney vs. Gaga. While it may make for a great night out with friends and great icebreakers for conversations, that is where it should stop. Of course, Gaga is experiencing what Britney had to deal with (or anyone that starts out) when they come onto the scene. Heck, even the Britney/Christina battle was tame by both of their fans. BritAholics and Monsters BOTH need to relax in my opinion. Just because an artist sells more than others does not make them ANY better. The fact that these women are even OUT THERE doing it has sealed my respect for them.

We all know that they were Born This Way to enjoy the music, and if people feel the need to hold the creativity and accomplishments of OTHERS against other fans (?) , then the only thing that should be held against me is the equal enjoyment of so many sounds not from only the past: but the future sounds to come.

Besides, we have WAY too many wars and uprisings going on in this world. Music is supposed to bring us together, to make us NOT compare each other and to unite the spirit and people of the world. No matter what, the dancefloor needs to stay as an Altar of Unity ... and NOT a Landmine of Destruction due to comparison

Mighty Aphrodite: KYLIE Les Follies Tour Domination Begins

On February 19th, Kylie Minogue debuted her latest tour "Aphrodite LES FOLLIES" in Denmark ... and showed once again as to why she is this blogger's Pop Queen Of The Universe!!!

Keeping with her latest album release, APHRODITE, the stage and majority of the show was inspired by Greek Mythology (and what Greek inspiration is not complete with costume designs by DOLCE AND GABBANA *wink* ) as well as some minor flashbacks of her Showgirl tour from a few years back (as a major fan, i noticed immediately). Also, this was the first time concertgoers got to see/experience in the much hyped SPLASH ZONE, where not only the crowd was being drenched with Kylie's hits but also with water ... and LOTS of it!!!

Water being shot from the stage, amazing dancers, a group of aerialists, a beautiful stage ... all in all, the estimated $25 million production and 25 trucks it takes to transport it around seems to be money well spent!!

The 23 song set list is as follows for the tour (which is divided into 7 Acts):
  1. Aphrodite
  2. The One
  3. Wow
  4. Illusion
  5. I Believe In You
  6. Cupid Boy
  7. Spinning Around
  8. Get Outta My Way
  9. What Do I Have To Do
  10. Everything Is Beautiful
  11. Slow
  12. Confide In Me
  13. Can't Get You Out Of My Head (rock Version)
  14. In My Arms
  15. Closer
  16. Looking For An Angel
  17. There Must Be An Angel
  18. Love At First Sight/Can't Beat The Feeling
  19. Better The Devil You Know
  20. Put Your Hands Up
  21. If You Don't Love Me
  22. On A Night Like This
  23. All The Lovers
One thing that many fans noticed after the setlist was finally announced is that BETTER THAN TODAY (Kylie's latest single from APHRODITE ) was not featured, even more suspicious as just 2 days before the tour started it had reached #2 on the Billboard Club/Dance Charts. Also, if you are planning on seeing her on the USA Leg of the tour, keep in mind that the Spash Zone effect will not be featured :(. Yes i know, but now you have all the more reason to reach out to her record label and DEMAND an Arena Tour during her next USA Visit.

Check out the newly released footage from opening night in Denmark to check out some fans getting hyped up as well as some show highlights (ANGELS AND GOLDEN HORSES AND HUMAN FOUNTAINS .... YES, PLEASE!!!)

Wall Street FOR SALE?

direct from February 10th's Wall Street Journal:

"After 219 years as the citadel of American capitalism, the New York Stock Exchange was near an agreement to be acquired by Deutsche Börse AG in a deal that would create the world's largest financial exchange. With the parent of the New York Stock Exchange and Germany's Deutsche Borse in advanced talks to merge, Aaron Lucchetti and Dennis Berman look at the likely impact on Wall Street as the financial capital of the world.
If a deal is reached and regulators approve, the combined company would trade more stocks and futures than any rival in the world and more options than any U.S. exchange.

what does this mean for the status of New York's "Financial Capital of The World" status? It 'seemed' to be that the NYC area was slowly climbing back ... but the possible NYSE Merger? This is pretty huge and interesting.... stay tuned. Will definitely follow up with this story......

TwitterView With Britney Spears: Brazil, Ballads and Boring?

Britney Spears took to her official Twitter page to answer questions directly from her fans for approximately 45 minutes or so on Thursday. Now, I am not an extreme die hard fan of hers (that title belongs to SOMEONE ELSE *ahem one of my best friends*) but it was great to hear directly from the source of this whole "Legendary" pop star (or it could have been her manager, whom tends to tweet under her name from time to time). BUT: just in case you are on the EDGE of YOUR seat since you maybe don't have a Twitter account ... here are some things she would like for you to know:

1) Ballads: now, we all know that she has a 99% tendency to lipsync during her performances (which is the MAJOR problem this blogger has with her), but it usually is the BALLADS that she does do live. Her upcoming release (FEMME FATALE, due out March 29th) will contain "a few midtempos that could be considered ballads". This is good news for her audio system on tour since it will be given a break to cool down and actual sound from her mouth will come out on the microphone ... OH! and speaking of TOURS.....

2) When she was asked by Twitter user GabrielOnyx (yes, that is the name) if she was going to SOUTH AMERICA for any upcoming tour: "I'm Thinking about touring right now and I would to visit a lot of places I didn't get to go to on my last tour .... Especially BRAZIL!!!" .. looks like Britney made GabrielOnyx's day (he is from Brazil if you did not catch that)

3) Competition: As the opposite action my best friend (whom just LOVES to throw down some battle between Britney and Gaga for some reason). Britney stated: "I love Lady Gaga. I think she's a really interesting artist." Whether that was her manager or Britney herself that said that, it is 100 MILLION PERCENT BETTER than what a fellow recording artist said about GaGa over 2 years ago!

4) She pretty much has forgiven (or maybe have forgotten about a specific incident from) Perez Hilton: She was asked about her thoughts on Perez Hilton and she admitted to his website as being "a guilty pleasure" as well as describing Perez himself as a "Real Firecracker" (but if this was 3 years ago, she might have said otherwise)

5) She is BORING: Hey! That is coming from her. While it has been noticeable that she has not been out and about stealing necklaces and pushing the law, she also wants you to know THIS: "I'm really just a boring homebody who loves staying home with my kids and thats where i'm the happiest"

Britney also discusses GLEE, STARBUCKS, and MADONNA during her Twitterview, which you can see some of the answers to at her official Twitter page

What would YOU have asked her? Does all this make you want to get on the TWITTER Bandwagon (with red bull and cheetos and grits with Britney of course)?

Kenneth Cole Damage Control

Yours truly found out this afternoon while updating this blog about one of the worst marketing tweets so far read on Twitter. As stated to my friends earlier today: There is a difference between bad press and just plain TACKY! Congrats "Kenneth Cole Tweet" for the latter

And now... the damage control.

Kenneth Cole himself has taken to twitter and issued an apology for that tweet heard around the world, calling it ".... Poorly Timed and Absolutely Inappropriate"

Many have also taken their frustration out on the official Kenneth Cole Facebook Page in light of the tweet earlier today.

Nothing HAUTE about this at all, huh?

Let's Talk To: PYRO FIGHTER

Photo courtesy of facebook. Photography done by David Cuerdon (cuerdon.com)

There seems to be some type of unique relationship I have been having with PYRO FIGHTER as of recently, and I have realized that they have been responsible for many firsts as of now:

They were the first entry in my HAVE YOU HEARD series, their song "LMFAO" was the opening song to the season 2 Premiere of MTVs Mega Hit JERSEY SHORE ... and now they are the subject to my first interview here for YourNextTopic!!! I managed to get a hold of the singer of the group, Dany Mellette and had her answer some questions from a new "PYRO" fan!

HI, Dany! Thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions. How is everything with you?
Everything is great, just finishing up a few last shows before our big move!

Right now you are in Ohio but you are heading to Chicago, correct? Why the move?
Chicago is a much bigger market and there is a ton more opportunity for us to create fans and a following.

So, I heard that you actually met your band mates in a crazy way ... tell us how that happened.
I met them via Craigslist a few years ago. Sounds lame, I know...but it worked out I'd say!

Where are you all originally from?
I'm from Mill Creek Indiana (close to Chicago) Billy is from Lima Ohio and Patrick is from Worthington Ohio

You described your music as "Tron-Pop" and seeing some footage of your performances, it seems like a great house party/rave vibe. What more can you tell us about your sound/influences to your music? I personally enjoy the feel good mood I get from the synth and bass from HONEY SHOT and LA LEMON DROP!!
When we first started, we based our music off of what we heard major DJ's doing, took some influence from the 90's and mixed it up with, what we think, is a more futuristic sound. It has since developed into a dirty pop sound...that's when we finally had a grasp on what we were doing and what we wanted. So it's a toss up between calling it "Tron-Pop" and "Dirt-Pop"

I also see that you have played alongside DJ Benny Benassi (at BOMA)! are there any plans for some collaborations/future work together with him? (He is one of my favorite DJs by the way, and I can sense a great vibe with your group and Benny)
No plans on a collab with him, but you never know what might happen! That was our first actual show ever and a lot of doors blew open after it. We met some crucial local DJ's and got ourselves in touch with the power houses of Columbus as a result. We figured, "Damn, if we could get THAT as our first show....imagine what we could do down the road!"

Your song LMFAO was the opening song to the Season 2 JERSEY SHORE premiere and ELECTROBOTIC was featured in a recent episode in season 3. How has this "JerseyShoreExposure" to your music affected? I can only imagine how many more new Pyros there are now. How has the reaction been after all that?
Yeah, we were actually on Episodes 1 & 2 of Season 2 and Episodes 1 & 2 of season 3. The results....I can't even explain it. We went from no views on YouTube to over 20k on LMFAO and over 12k on Electrobotic (in 2 weeks) and it's still steadily climbing. Our iTunes sales jumped and so did our "Likes" on facebook. The fact that we had a screen ID on the show helped.

Your new song "Play Stop Rewind" was just released on iTunes last month. Does this mean that there is some newer material coming out?!?!?!? :-) and if so, what can we expect?
There is ALWAYS new stuff in the works, one thing about us is we take forever...sometimes finishing and throwing away entire finished tracks just to start them over from scratch. We are perfectionists but we will keep pumping them out as fast as we can! Once we have 10 or so, we will release a full length album.

Any gigs planned soon so that people can see you live and have a great time?
Feb 12 with InnerPartySystem at The Basement Columbus, OH
Feb 19 with big local acts at Skully's Columbus, OH
We will move to Chicago right after that and start booking there.

Before we part, is there anything else you would like to say to anyone reading this interview?
